The concept of having a working ceramic studio definitely sets the gallery apart from other galleries.

After viewing the gallery, you walk through the glaze lab into a self contained studio, fully equipped with a glaze application area, several pottery wheels, clay-mixer, slab roller and extruder.

In the studio you can see pieces taking shape through sketches and maquettes. Discussions, exploring ideas, feasibility, logistics, engineering, surface finishes, etc. are all part of the “creating” process.

Successful and less successful examples of previous attempts, can be found on the studio shelves. These give constant visual feedback, allowing the work to evolve.
